Safe and attentive care – from the very beginning.

Pregnancy is a special time marked by many changes. Regular and careful prenatal care is designed to monitor the health of the mother and the development of the baby continuously, from the beginning of pregnancy through to delivery.

Dr. Arsenakis provides structured medical care and regular prenatal examinations throughout every stage of pregnancy.

Regular Check-Ups During Pregnancy

Prenatal examinations take place at regular intervals and are adapted according to the stage of pregnancy.

They may include:

  • assessment of the mother’s general health
  • blood pressure and weight monitoring
  • blood and urine tests
  • monitoring of relevant laboratory values and infections
  • assessment of the course of the pregnancy
  • monitoring of the baby’s growth and development
  • assessment of the uterus, placenta, and amniotic fluid
  • later in pregnancy, monitoring of the baby’s heart rate and, when indicated, cardiotocography (CTG)

Ultrasound examinations accompany the pregnancy at different stages and allow detailed assessment of fetal development. The various possibilities of ultrasound diagnostics during pregnancy are described in more detail in the dedicated section.

Prenatal Care Also Means Early Detection

An important part of prenatal care is the early identification of potential changes or complications.

Screening and monitoring may include assessment for:

  • gestational diabetes
  • anemia and iron deficiency
  • infections
  • changes in blood pressure
  • signs of preeclampsia
  • abnormalities in fetal growth

If any concerns are identified, the frequency and type of examinations can be adjusted and additional diagnostic or therapeutic measures can be arranged when necessary.

The Right Examinations at the Right Time

As pregnancy progresses, the medical questions and priorities change. Prenatal care therefore follows a structured timeline – from examinations in early pregnancy through the second and third trimesters to preparation for delivery.

Which examinations are appropriate and when they should be performed depend on the course of the pregnancy and the individual medical findings.

Experience in Obstetrics

During his many years at Nuremberg University Hospital, Dr. Arsenakis was involved in more than 2,500 deliveries, gaining extensive experience in obstetrics and pregnancy care.

This clinical experience provides the foundation for structured and attentive medical care throughout pregnancy.

Prenatal care means carefully monitoring mother and baby, identifying potential changes at an early stage, and creating the best possible medical conditions for a safe course of pregnancy.
